An independent research institute built for a specific moment
CDGR was established in Berlin to sustain independent policy-relevant research on regions where the space for such work is increasingly constrained. We engage policymakers in Germany and at the European level directly, and we produce analysis that is designed to inform decisions — not to describe them after the fact.
We operate as a non-partisan, non-profit research institute (gUG) and are committed to analytical rigour and editorial independence.
